When does LaLiga transfer window close? How long do Barcelona and Real Madrid have to seal final deals?

Real Madrid and Barcelona both still have potentially significant transfer business to conduct this summer.

Having brought Zinedine Zidane back into the dugout towards the end of a torrid 2018/19 season, Los Blancos started the summer on the front foot in the transfer window.

They agreed a deal to sign Brazilian centre-back Eder Militao from Porto before the season had ended, and followed it by bringing in Ferland Mendy, Luka Jovic and Eden Hazard at a cost of well over £200million.

However, Zidane was unable to prise Paul Pogba away from Manchester United while Gareth Bale went from being on the verge of an exit to starting the first game of the season.

Zero summer signings started the 3-1 win over Celta Vigo, though Luka Jovic came on for nine minutes.

Barcelona have made some similarly important signings, with Frenkie de Jong and Antoine Griezmann arriving from Ajax and Atletico Madrid respectively, while reserve goalkeeper Neto has also joined from Sevilla.

Philippe Coutinho has initially turned down a return to the Premier League on loan before agreeing to join Bayern Munich, telling media at his unveiling that he hopes to stay for "many years".

And then, of course, there is the Neymar situation. Paris Saint-Germain are open to allowing the Brazilian to leave for the right price, with Barcelona keen to bring him back to Camp Nou and weighing up a loan with a view to a permanent move next summer, but wary of a potential Real Madrid hijack.

The two Clasico giants, along with the rest of the clubs in Spain, have until 11:59pm local time on Monday, September 2 to get any final business done.

Spain

The Liga window opens on July 1 and closes on September 2.

Germany

The Bundesliga window opens on July 1 and closes on September 2.
