Following on from the BBC’s documentary, I Am Greta, the new series Greta Thunberg: A Year to Change the World, is airing on BBC One.
The three-part programme follows the Swedish activist as she deals with climate change deniers and sceptics reacting to her perceived emotionalism, as she attempts to get them to listen to the science.
She also travels to witness the impact of the climate crisis with her own eyes, from melting glaciers to dying forests, and speaks to the survivors of wildfires in California.
When does it air?
The first episode of Greta Thunberg: A Year to Change the World airs tonight (Monday 12 April) at 9pm on BBC One, and follows Thunberg as she travels through North America with her father, Svante, to attend a climate conference in Chile.
Thunberg is also shown pleading with viewers and politicians to disregard the personal attacks on her and instead listen to her warnings about the planet.
“People say a lot of things about me,” she says. “People listen when I talk. But I don’t want you to listen to me. I want you to listen to the science.
“We cannot look away from this crisis anymore.”
As with the first documentary, I Am Greta, the programme will include never-before-seen footage from behind the scenes, and show her reflecting on what has been accomplished so far, along with the enormous challenges the world still faces.
