Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is officially the next big title for 2025. Activision finally confirmed it with a teaser trailer and intel drop on June 8, months after all the speculations and leaks.
Treyarch and Raven Software are once again teaming up to develop the game, and they’re calling this one “the most mind-bending Black Ops ever” in CoD history. What’s even more exciting (or maybe not for some) is that this marks the first time that we’re getting back-to-back releases in the Black Ops series. BO7 is set to directly follow up the events of Black Ops 2 and the current title Black Ops 6, tying together storylines in a big way.
Set in the year 2035, BO7 brings back fan-favorite David Mason as he leads his team against a sinister new threat called The Guild, an enemy force that specializes in psychological warfare and weaponizing fear to manipulate global events.
On top of that, Co-op Campaign mode is making a long-awaited comeback for the first time in nearly a decade, giving players the chance to team up through the story. Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone are also getting fresh updates, including new maps, mechanics, and features designed to push the gameplay to the next level.

Black Ops 7 is officially slated for release sometime later in 2025, sticking to the franchise’s usual fall launch window. While Activision hasn’t announced an exact date yet, previous CoD titles usually land in October or November, and and all signs point to BO7 following that same schedule.
That release window has become a tradition for the franchise. It lines up perfectly with the holiday season and helps the game steer clear of competition from other major titles that typically launch earlier in the year.
Treyarch has already confirmed that a full reveal is coming this summer. That means we’ll be getting a much closer look at what Black Ops 7 brings to the table, including deeper story details, new gameplay mechanics, and features across Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone.
