The opportunities for half-term and school holiday travel look very different today than they have at many points across the past two years, as the Easter break gets underway.
Evidence for the new freedom, and a new mindset that has come with it, has been plain to see with enormous queues at overcrowded airports having caught the post-pandemic skeleton crews working there by surprise.
Aviation companies have seen staff leave in large numbers throughout the Covid pandemic, with the number of people needed for full capacity operations yet to be rehired.
Speaking to the Telegraph, Martin Chalk general secretary of the pilots union Balpa, said: "The chaos witnessed at British airports may well be repeated throughout the summer because airlines, laden with debt… have not yet rehired enough staff.”
Because of this new demand for trips away, families are understandably wanting to get their holiday plans booked early.
While this is an easy operation for those without children, for those with kids in school the planning stage requires a little more forethought - starting with when you can actually get your little ones out of the classroom.
When are the remaining school holidays for 2022?
The Easter holidays have already begun, with school having been out for three days at the time of writing on April 7.
But there are still lots of holidays to come in the remainder of this school year and the beginning of the 2022/2023 academic year.
