For many the Boxing Day sales are an opportunity to grab a bargain or even buy presents at hugely discounted prices for the following Christmas.
However, with many more shops making the decision to close on December 26 this year in order to give their staff a well-deserved break the high-street might look a little different this year.
One of the stores making the unprecedented decision to close on Boxing Day is Next, which is famous for its long, early morning queues. In fact, it's not uncommon to see shoppers lining up as early as 4am on Boxing Day to get their hands on reduced price tags.

However, the famous seasonal sale is not going ahead on December 26 this year as the holiday falls on a Sunday. Instead Next launched their sale online early from 3pm on Christmas Eve and has confirmed it will kick off the in-store sale in Wales on bank holiday Monday. Here's everything you need to know.
When do Next stores open for Boxing Day sales in Wales?
Next is closed across in England, Wales and Northern Ireland on December 26 but will reopen on Monday, December 27.
The store has confirmed that the in-store Boxing Day sale will instead kick-off on the bank holiday.
A Next spokesperson told WalesOnline: "Our Sale starts online on Friday December 24th and our in-store sales starts on Monday December 27th at 6am, in the majority of our UK stores."
What time does the Next sale start in stores?
A quick look at the store locator suggests many Next stores, including Cardiff, Newport and Swansea, will open at 6am on Monday, December 27 and will remain open until 8pm so customers can grab some bargains.
The online sale, however, kicked off on Friday, December 24 for Christmas Eve, although some customers, who were signed up for a Nextpay credit account by December 15, had early access to the reduced prices.
