When do Manchester United players return for pre-season training?

Manchester United players are enjoying their last few weeks off as the club prepares for the 2019/20 season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be hoping to bring back the early form of his reign in charge of the club when the Premier League starts in August as United look to make a return to the Champions League.

After a dire end to the season the club will be looking to hit the ground running when they host Chelsea on the opening weekend of the new season, but before that they have a busy pre-season schedule to get through.

United players are set to return to the club for pre-season on Monday July 1, before setting off for Australia a week after their initial training session.

The club's pre-season schedule starts with a friendly match against Perth Glory on Saturday 13 July before facing old foes Leeds United on Wednesday July 17.

Speaking at the end of the season Solskjaer warned his players they would need to be ready for the start of pre-season or could face missing out on their tour of the Far East.

“They have all got their programmes to do over the summer. We expect them to be ready to go on July 1 when we start,” said Solskjaer.

“We’re not going to use the first 10 days to build them up, they should be ready to go.

“We have a longer summer break than any of the other challengers and have to use that as an advantage. It’s not like a threat – but whoever’s not ready on July 1 will probably stay and not travel with us on tour.”
