  • Novak Djokovic has also withdrawn from the men’s tournament due to a shoulder injury.
  • World No 1 Carlos Alcaraz is due to begin his campaign on Friday night against either Joao Fonseca or Fabian Marozsan, while Jannik Sinner will face either Damir Dzumhur or qualifier Ignacio Buse on Saturday.
  • Sinner is aiming for another tournament win after triumphing at Indian Wells last Sunday when he beat Daniil Medvedev in the final.
