While Chelsea made three announcements in three days last week, there is one that Blues fans are still waiting for.
A move for Kai Havertz has been on the cards for several weeks, and while there hasn’t been an announcement just yet, Blues fans shouldn’t be worried.
The 21-year-old has now joined up with the Germany international side ahead of their fixtures against Spain and Switzerland.
And it appears that Havertz won’t be heading back to Bayer Leverkusen when he is done with the national side.
“Unfortunately, our squad has not yet been determined,” Leverkusen manager Bosz said. “I no longer expect that Kevin Volland and Kai Havertz will train with us again.
“It is possible that other players will also switch. We definitely have to bring players in too.”
So while the Blues have announced deals for Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva and Malang Sarr, they are wondering when Havertz will get over the line.
The Blues are to agree a fee of around £72m, with add-ons which will take the final fee to around £90m.
Havertz is going to sign a five-year deal with the club and will complete Chelsea’s attempts to add to their forward line.
It’s likely that the deal will be announced once Havertz is done with his international duties, before the forward makes the move to west London.
Leverkusen are also looking to bring in a replacement with Patrik Schick likely to join from AS Roma and a deal set to be struck between the two clubs.
Havertz has been one of the key men for the Blues to get over the line and they are on the verge of being able to do that.
Blues fans have been concerned that the deal won’t be finalised, however there shouldn’t be a concern about what is about to happen.
Once the deal is announced, Havertz will prepare with the Blues ahead of their opening Premier League game of the 2020/21 against Brighton on September 14.
