When can tattoo, sunbed, and piercing shops reopen?

Yesterday marked one of the biggest days of lockdown so far as non-essential retailers across the country were finally able to reopen their doors.

This meant shops such as Primark, Sports Direct, TK Maxx and more were finally open again and high streets across the country were busy with shoppers.

However, despite hundreds of businesses now back open, there are plenty still waiting to be given the green light by the Government.

Hair and beauty salons as well as barber shops have been told the earliest date they can reopen is July 4 and this is providing there is scientific evidence which says it is safe to do so.

But what does this mean for other shops such as tattoo, sunbed and piercing shops? Well, looking at the Government's website these business would fall under the next phase of the easing of lockdown.

The phases are laid out in the Government's "Covid-19 recovery strategy" document which says beauty salons and personal care businesses will reopen as part of the country’s stage 3.

When these businesses do reopen there will no doubt be a number of strict safety measures in place, although the Government is yet to provide details on what these measures will be.

There are reports some shops will be running on an appointment-only basis. We'll be bringing you the latest on these reopenings as soon as receive updates.
