When Bristol is set to be hottest this Bank Holiday weekend

Temperatures are set to rise in Bristol throughout the Bank Holiday weekend.

The Met Office expects highs of 15C today (Saturday), with clouds and some sunny spells.

Tomorrow's skies should look similar, but temperatures should peak higher, at 18C.

And the experts predict unfettered sunshine on Monday, with highs of 20C.

In its South West forecast, the Met Office says: "A wet start for some on Saturday, with scattered showers continuing through the morning.

"The showers will clear into the afternoon, but it will remain windy with some sunshine. Maximum temperature 17C.

"Windy, dry and sunny on Sunday. Winds lighter on Monday and staying sunny. Cloudier and cooler on Tuesday."

The Met Office is forecasting temperatures in some parts of Britain could rise to more than 26C on Monday.

The AA's president Edmund King has appealed to drivers ahead of the weekend, telling them “if it is busy, hotspots should be avoided”.

He said drivers should think about "how far they need to travel to enjoy the great outdoors safely" amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Mr King added: "Many facilities, such as shops and public toilets, will not be open at traditional holiday hotspots.”
