For City they will be hoping to continue their dominance of the country after they became the first mens team to win a domestic treble last season after sweeping up the league, Carabao Cup and FA Cup.
They could also match United's record of winning the league three times in a row if they reclaim their crown, though they'll surely face stiff competition from Liverpool once more after the Champions League winners missed out on a mere point last season.
United, on the other hand, will be looking to put the disaster of last season in the past and redeem themselves after winning just twice in the final 12 games of the season.
It will also be Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first full season in charge at Old Trafford after replacing Jose Mourinho midway through last year's campaign as caretaker manager.
The Norwegian's unbelievable start of going his first 11 games without a defeat, as well as a sensational victory against PSG in the Champions League, earned him the job on a permanent basis and he'll be desperate to prove himself after his side's form dwindled at the end of the season.
When are the Premier League fixtures released?
The Premier League fixtures for the 2019/20 season will be released on Thursday, June 13.
They will be announced by the Premier League at 9am that morning.
