What time is the British Soap Awards on tonight? How to watch and who is nominated

That time has finally rolled around again where the soap stars take to the red carpet for the biggest night of the year - the British Soap Awards.

Though ITV might have a job on their hands pulling in the viewers as it also happens to be the UEFA Champions League final, which is kicking off at the same time.

Emmerdale actor Danny Miller will be one of the stars missing from the awards this evening to watch the match and support Liverpool, who are up against Tottenham Hotspur.

Phillip Schofield will host the British Soap Awards this evening, which are held in Manchester this year.

When are the Soap Awards on tonight?

The British Soap Awards are airing tonight at 8pm and is broadcast live on ITV.

Its 2018 ceremony was the first ceremony that aired live and brought in its highest ratings since 2014.

It will be the 21st ceremony tonight and can also be watched live on the ITV website.

They will be taking place in The Lowry Thearre in Salford, Manchester, which previously hosted the ceremony in 2017.

Last year, the ceremony was held in London.

Who has been nominated this year?

Coronation Street's Jack P Shepherd, EastEnders stars Danny Dyer and Zack Morris, Emmerdale's Jeff Hordley and Hollyoaks' Gregory Finnegan will be battling it out for the Best Actor gong tonight.

Meanwhile Coronation Street's Alison King, EastEnders' Lorraine Stanley, Emmerdale star Lucy Pargeter and Hollyoaks' Stephanie Davis and Lauren McQueen.

Up for Villain of the Year are Greg Wood (Rick Neelan, Coronation Street ), Matthew Chambers (Daniel Granger, Doctors), Ricky Champ (Stuart Highway, EastEnders), Claire King (Kim Tate, Emmerdale) and Nathan Sussex (Buster Smith, Hollyoaks).

Meanwhile up for Best Storyline are: The Impact of Aidan's Suicide (Coronation Street); Daniel and Zara's Breakup (Doctors); Knife Crime (EastEnders); Charity's Abuse (Emmerdale); Footballer Abuse (Hollyoaks).

Other shortlisted categories include Best Soap Best Newcomer, Best Storyline, Best Single Episode, Best Male Dramatic Performance, Best Female Dramatic Performance, Best On-Screen Partnership, Best Young Actor and Scene of the Year.
