Leeds United's Premier League promotion permutations analysed with West Brom and Brentford

Premier League football is within touching distance for Leeds United.

The Whites need seven points from their remaining four games to guarantee promotion to the top flight.

There is still some work to be done, but West Brom dropping points against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday gave them a bit of breathing space heading into Sunday's game at Swansea City.

Fans will be doing the maths to find out when Leeds's promotion could be confirmed and when they could possibly be confirmed as champions.

Thankfully, we have done the maths for you. Take a look below.

Leeds United's remaining fixtures

Leeds have just four games remaining, beginning with Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday.

After that, Leeds face Yorkshire rivals Barnsley at home on Thursday, July 16 and then Derby County away on Sunday, July 19.

The Whites' final game of the season is on Wednesday, July 22 when they face strugglers Charlton Athletic at home.

When is the earliest they could they be promoted?

Time to dig out the calculator.

Leeds are currently level on points with second-placed West Brom and three points ahead of Brentford in third with a game in hand over both of them.

That means the earliest they can be promoted is on Thursday night, when they face Barnsley.

That would require Leeds to beat Swansea on Sunday and for Brentford to lose against Preston on Wednesday night.

When is the earliest Leeds can win the title?

At present, Bielsa's men are only ahead of West Brom on goal difference.

That means, even if Leeds win all their remaining games, as long as the Baggies matched their results, the title wouldn't be confirmed until the last game.

But should West Brom's form continue to tail off and Leeds do their part in winning their remaining games, the title could be wrapped up as early as Saturday.

West Brom losing to Fulham and then failing to beat Huddersfield on Saturday would mean the Whites could be crowned champions during Sunday's game at Derby County.
