When and what time are the Liverpool metro and city mayor results?

The vote for Mayor of Liverpool City Region is taking place on Thursday, May 6.

But the results will not be known straight away, as counting does not begin until two days later - on Saturday.

Steve Rotheram, the current Mayor, is hoping to retain the title.

These are the candidates (listed alphabetically):

  • Gary Cargill (Green)
  • Jade Marsden (Conservative)
  • David Newman (Liberal Democrat)
  • Steve Rotheram (Labour)

The counting will not start until 9am on Saturday (May 8) with the results expected from 12pm the same day.

Separately, a vote is taking place for Liverpool's Mayor.

The candidates are:

  • Joanne Anderson (Labour)
  • Roger Bannister (Trade Union and Socialist Coalition)
  • Katie Burgess (Conservative)
  • Tom Crone (Green)
  • Richard Kemp (Liberal Democrat)
  • Steve Radford (Liberal)
  • Stephen Yip (Independent)

Counting for the Liverpool mayor is expected to begin from 9am on Friday.

The results are likely to come in from 2pm.
