Following the news that over 40 devices will lose access to WhatsApp, the company has just revealed that an exclusive feature will be launching on only one brand of phone.
Porting over chat history from Apple devices to android has long been demanded by Whatsapp users.
Now, those users who own Samsung Galaxy phones will get access to the new feature first.
Before this feature, users would have to start fresh if switching to an Android or Apple device.
Whatsapp have finally said enough is enough -at least for Samsung owners- as a new tool will allow those owners to easily port chats, pictures, voice notes and videos over to an Apple device.
Thankfully none of this will affect the end-to-end encryption that users enjoy with Whatsapp.
"Your WhatsApp messages belong to you," said WhatsApp's Sandeep Paruchuri.
"That's why they are stored on your phone by default, and not accessible in the cloud, like many other messaging services."
"We're excited for the first time to make it easy for people to securely transfer their WhatsApp history from one operating system to another."
"This has been one of our most-requested features from users for years, and we worked together with operating systems and device manufacturers to solve it."
The Facebook-owned company do plan on rolling out this new feature to other Android devices in the coming months.
