WhatsApp to roll out three huge changes including 'hiding' feature

WhatsApp is set to roll out three big changes to the messaging service - including a new feature that lets you 'hide' yourself.

The popular messaging app, which is available on iPhone and Android phones, is constantly being updated to make the user experience better.

WhatsApp's latest rumoured changes are likely to land this year and include an update to the 'last seen' icon, The Sun reports.

The app could let people 'hide' your Last Seen status - which show the last time you were active - for certain contacts.

This means you could hide from specific people when you're online.

Another big change set to roll out this year is high quality images, with WhatsApp rumoured to be working on an improvement to media sharing.

The app currently compresses photos and videos to save space and improve transfer speeds.

This degrades photo and video quality from the original.

However, WhatsApp will soon let you pick an option to send a compressed photo or "best quality".

The last change is stickers - with WhatsApp is also working on a feature that lets you create your own.

This new feature will let you turn images into stickers and send them to friends without clogging up phone space.

It comes as WhatsApp is set to be blocked for millions of smart phone users from the start of November.

Both Android and Apple users are being urged to make sure their phone software is up to date.

Smartphone users must update the operating systems on their mobiles or upgrade their devices if they want to continue using WhatsApp after November 1.

Operating systems can be updated by users through the settings on their mobile phones.
