Whatsapp and Instagram have gone down for users across the world with both sites crashing.
On Friday afternoon people were unable to access the apps and websites.
According to DownDetector, over 20,000 Instagram users and 9,000 WhatsApp users reported the outage.
It is believed to have happened just after 5.20pm.
On Instagram 77 per cent of users reported not being able to access their newsfeed.
Meanwhile 5,000 Facebook users reported an outage at 5.32pm
Both Instagram and Whatsapp are part of Mark Zuckerberg's Facebook, which is said to have 2.8 billion active users.
It is unclear what has caused the outage.
