Whatsapp, Facebook and Instagram down as sites crash

Three popular social media apps are reported to be down.

Facebook, Whatsapp and Instagram are not working for users globally, according to DownDetector.

More than 20,000 WhatsApp users reported issues using the global instant messaging service from about 4pm UK time, The Mirror reports.

That went up to 36,298 for Facebook and 12,144 for Instagram.
