WhatsApp Dark Mode rolls out for early testers - and it looks amazing

It’s one of the most highly-requested features on WhatsApp , and now it seems that Dark Mode is finally rolling out - at least to early testers.

A new report by WABetaInfo claims that WhatsApp is rolling out the Dark Theme feature for all Android beta users.

WABetaInfo explained: “The day is here and I’m very happy to announce that WhatsApp is finally rolling out, for all Android beta users, the Dark Theme feature!”

As the name suggests, dark mode changes the background colour of the app window to black, making it much easier on the eyes - particularly when using your phone in the evening.

The report indicates that users will be able to choose from three themes on WhatsApp.

The first, called Light Theme, is the usual theme on the app, while Dark Theme will turn your app to dark blue colours.

Alternatively, users can choose to Set by Battery Saver, in which the app will automatically switch to light or dark themes based on your Battery Saver settings.

WABetaInfo added: “If you are a beta tester and you see Themes in WhatsApp Chat Settings, you can finally enable the feature.

“If the feature is not available for you, and you have already followed our suggestions to get it, don’t worry: WhatsApp has started to roll out the feature, so you will receive it very soon!”

Dark Mode is already available on several other popular apps, including Twitter , YouTube and Instagram , and WhatsApp users have been desperate for the feature to launch on the chat app.

One user tweeted: “Genuinely can’t stand the sight of whatsapp, everything on my phone is in dark mode now this white junk is just there.”

Another added: “I’ve officially given up on expecting @WhatsApp dark mode. Y’all playing games.”
