It’s a feature that WhatsApp users have been waiting for for months, and now it seems that a Dark Mode is finally coming to the Android version of the app.
WABetaInfo has spotted Dark Mode in the beta version of the Android app, suggesting the feature is finally on its way.
While Dark Mode has previously been spotted in the beta version of the iOS app, this is the first time it’s been seen for Android.
In the standard version of WhatsApp, the background is white, while text appears in black or grey.

In Dark Mode, these colours are inverted, transforming the background into a black colour, with white text overlaid.
This feature will make using WhatsApp much easier on the eyes in low-light situations.
However, it remains unclear when it will be rolled out for all users.
WABetaInfo said: “The Dark Mode feature is not available yet. WhatsApp is working on this feature in this update in order to ensure the best bug-free experience for you before to enable them for everyone.”
The news makes sense, given that Facebook , which owns WhatsApp, recently rolled out a Dark Mode feature for Facebook Messenger.
