Ah, another week ends. If only it didn't mean we've lost five days of our fleeting lives that we'll never get back, and probably spent them sitting at a desk somewhere, contemplating what could have gone better in our lives.
But then we remember there's a tradeoff to this existential dread: weekends. Specifically, weekends reserved for video games (or games you play on a table, we don't judge here). And, like every weekend, we're here to ask you the ultimate contemplative question—what are you going to be playing?

I am currently recovering from severe muscle soreness, having blown my entire back out yesterday (not in that way) at the gym, trying to max out the cable pulldown rack. I'm slowly approaching the bottom, but still have a while to go before I can truly say I've made it on that machine.
Speaking of machines, there's this one game I'm going to be playing a bit of this weekend, since it's currently running a playtest. It's set in a dystopian world ruined and ruled by machines and sentient technology, and no, it's not Horizon. In fact, it's called Exoborne, an extraction looter-shooter that's been running tests for a while now, slowly but surely improving on its foundation to ensure it can compete with similar giants coming out this year and down the line, such as Arc Raiders.
Aside from Exoborne, another alpha test you can sign up for is currently underway for a game called Arkheron, a MOBA-battle royale-ARPG sort of blend, which you'll learn more of in some of my upcoming features, but I did break down its new trailer yesterday, so be sure to read up on that.
Lastly, I'm going to find some time to squeeze in a few hours of Cities: Skylines. Both of them, actually, with my primary focus being on the first, given its larger content library and exceptional mod support, which the latter currently lacks.

The team is gearing up for some mighty gamin' time this weekend, too. There's a lot on everyone's plate this time around, so here goes.
My fellow writers are going for a mix of live-service and singleplayer vibes, from sports games to looter-shooters. Arka will stick to FC 26 this weekend, kicking the ball around and pretending EA's made a new game instead of slapping a new number on the old one; Hads is playing some Apex: Legends to satisfy their live-service cravings, because what would gaming in 2025 be without some free-to-play action?
Scott'll sprinkle on some LEGO Voyagers and Hello Kitty Island Adventure on top of his weekend to spend some quality time with his SO. Kacee is hopping back into Hogwarts Legacy, which is only the second-best Harry Potter game, behind Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets for the original PlayStation.
Madison is staying the course and playing the same games as last week, continuing her runs through Borderlands 4 and Baldur's Gate 3, where she's trying to clear Act Two and the Moonrise Tower (i.e., the best parts of the entire game).
Our editorial pair also has a packed weekend, and no, Luci is not just playing chess this time around. Though he is sinking a lot of time into moving pieces on a board, and probably doing it as I'm typing this, he might also get into Cyberpunk 2077. Rachel Samples, our editor-in-chief, is going for The Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom, Pokémon Go, and The Sims 4, because it wouldn't be a “Whatcha playing” piece without some Nintendo love.
But that's enough about us, as I've rambled for far too long when only one thing really matters—you. With so many games out, whether as betas, alphas, or full releases, there are literally infinite options to choose from this weekend, so do be kind to tell us what you're gonna be playing.
And, as always, have a wonderful weekend from all of us at Destructoid.
