Well done players, another Friday is upon you, the first one in the month of August. Yeah, it's been eight months already, and you've just been struck with existential dread.
But how about we discuss some gamin' first, you know? Save that late-night crisis for the, well, late night.
Hunting for Hunt

In the midst of being stricken by exercise-induced allergies I am having a hard time recovering from, I'm planning to return to one of gaming's best titles—Hunt: Showdown. Extraction shooters have never been forte, but Hunt is simply one I keep coming back to. It's made by Crytek on their fantastic Cryengine, which provides both smooth gameplay and stellar graphics which you aren't likely to encounter in other games.
On top of that, it just launched its Blood Meridian-themed event, and, being the biggest Cormac McCarthy fan you've ever heard of, I simply had to return to experience it. So, I hope this weekend will be fruitful huntin' time, provided I get actually competent teammates instead of citizens of Eastern European countries whose languages I unfortunately do not speak.
The DBD addiction is real

Outside of Hunt, I'll devote every waking hour to playing Dead by Daylight, both as a Killer and a Survivor.
I've been on a strong slasher horror binge, speeding through Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, and three Scream films so far. I plan to watch Scream 4 tonight and the rest in the coming days (perhaps even this weekend), and I'll be supplying that crave(n) with that sweet DBD Ghostface gameplay to which I cannot even express how addicted I am. Everyone calls him a crappy Killer, much like his movie counterparts are, but I love him nonetheless.
But enough about my movie and video game addictions, I wanna know what you'll be doing this summer, and specifically this weekend. Any horror games in that repertoire of yours? Indies, AAA corpo giants? Let me know below and, as always, have a brutally beautiful weekend, Destructoid.
