- The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) is implementing significant changes to the driving test booking system this month to combat misuse by 'bots'.
- From 31 March, learners will be restricted to just two booking changes, a reduction from the previous six allowed.
- Effective 12 May, only the learner themselves will be permitted to book or modify a car driving test, removing this ability from instructors.
- A further restriction on 9 June will limit location changes for booked tests to the three closest test centres.
- These measures aim to prevent third parties from exploiting the system by reselling test slots at inflated prices, which have been reported to reach up to £500 compared to the official £62 fee.
