Rules announced by the Health Secretary have placed extra restrictions on people in the city.

Today, Matt Hancock placed a strict ban on all social mixing between different households in all settings except outdoor public spaces in the Liverpool City Region.

This includes pubs, bars and restaurants as well as private homes.

These new restrictions will also apply to Halton and Warrington.

Previously, Merseyside's ban on mixing with other households only extended to private homes and gardens, while people were only advised not to socialise with others in other settings.
