What you actually get in Celebrations tubs - sweet ratio and how boxes differ

With Christmas just 51 days away, it's almost socially acceptable to start adding Baileys and mince pies to your supermarket shopping trolley. And of course, the festive season isn't complete without a tub (or five) of Celebrations.

But Mars Wrigley has upset many fans this year by revealing it's going to remove Bounty sweets from some of the tubs, claiming 40% of their customers have said they don't like the coconutty taste of paradise. While some haters are delighted by the change, others are calling for a Liz Truss-style speedy U-Turn and say Christmas is ruined.

The controversial news has started the annual discussions about the tubs early this year, and of course the rows about which of the sweets are the best. But what do you actually get in those famous red pots?

Always asking the important journalistic questions, we decided to do a little experiment here at Mirror HQ. We compared the contents of 10 tubs to see how the contents differ.

We counted how many chocolates were in each box, and how the ratios differed.

The number of chocolates ranged from 69 to 73 , with the majority holding 72 chocolates.

Of the eight varieties on offer, each box has a different amount of each - apart from the Snickers, which has the same number in each - 10. And we have good news for Mars fans, as they are by far the most common sweet in the tubs. Across all 10, there were 103 Mars sweets. One box even had a record of 12 Mars bars, compared to Galaxy which only had seven.

While we give with one hand, we take away with the other and have bad news for Galaxy fans. The creamy chocolate was bottom of the list with the fewest treats in the boxes - just 72 overall. Eight of the legendary tubs only had seven Galaxy chocolates - devastating.
