What Yerry Mina said to Callum Wilson in penalty run-up revealed by club footage

The full extent of Yerry Mina's attempts to put off Callum Wilson are revealed in Newcastle's brilliant Match cam footage of their 2-1 win over Everton.

Viewers on Sky saw Wilson give Mina a "shush" motion after scoring his penalty and the Newcastle striker admitted afterwards the Colombian defender had "tried to get in his head" before the spot kick.

And the footage - released on Youtube today - shows just how much gamesmanship was going on.

When Wilson won the penalty, Mina made a beeline for the striker to get in his ear - claiming he knew which side of the goal he was going to put the spot kick.

He then shadowed the forward to the extent that referee Stuart Atwell has to seperate the two at one point. Mina protested his innocence but continued his attempts as Wilson prepard to take the kick.

Suitably undeterred, Wilson took his run up with Mina stood to his left clapping his hands loudly and shouting "come on!"

He then bellowed loudly three times to try and put Wilson off, only for Newcastle's forward to roll the ball past Robin Olson.

The striker said he enjoyed the battle. "Yeah, I told him to be quiet! He was trying to get in my head before the penalty, he kept telling me where I was going to go," he told Sky afterwards.

“It was a good battle, that’s what it’s all about. I enjoy that sometimes, pushing each other around and stuff.”

You can view the footage on Newcastle's Youtube channel above. The penalty incident is from around 5 minutes 30 seconds.
