What wonderkid Yunus Musah said after choosing Valencia transfer over Arsenal

Arsenal lost a key transfer battle in the summer.

The Gunners brought int a host of new players, including breaking their club record by signing Nicolas Pepe for £72million.

But someone went under the radar in leaving the club.

football.london reported back in July that wonderkid Yunus Musah had decided to leave the Gunners to sign for Valencia.

But it has taken a while for the deal to be completed.

Musah was considered the standout prospect of the 2002/03 generation in the Arsenal Academy and played a significant role in the U18s winning the Premier League last season, scoring five goals and providing three assists in 17 appearances.

That progress was noted by the Spanish giants, who reportedly offered Musah a clearer path to the first-team than Arsenal could.

On his playing style, Musah said: "I'm a passer and also physical, I can run past players because I'm a bit bigger than some of them. I'm really good at passing, I can create a lot of chances and this season I've been trying to improve my scoring rate.

"I want to score more goals and be more consistent with my passes as well. Sometimes in the game I can do so many good passes and one bad one, I want to correct that."

Musah was pictured in a Valencia shirt, playing for the club's Mestalla side in July and has officially signed for the club now.

Posting on his Instagram page, the 16-year-old said: "I am over the moon to have officially signed for Valencia. Delighted to join a club with such rich history and now I get to be a part of it! Can't wait to get started."

Musah is far from the only young prospect at Hale End who has caught the eye of top European clubs. Xavier Amaechi - who has yet to sign a new contract as his current terms enter their final 12 months - is coveted by Bayern Munich whilst Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain have been among those tracking Tyreece John-Jules.
