What Wolves star Raul Jimenez said to Man City ace Erling Haaland at full-time

Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Raul Jimenez was captured asking Manchester City star Erling Haaland for his shirt after his side were defeated by the Blues on Sunday.

The two forwards had contrasting afternoons in Manchester as the two teams met in the Premier League. Haaland stole the show for City scoring yet another hat-trick as the Blues trounced their West Midlands opponents 3-0.

As for Jimenez, he struggled to leave his mark on the match at the Etihad Stadium and was substituted at half-time by Julen Lopetegui as they looked to turn around their fortunes. Defeat for Wolves kept them firmly in the relegation dogfight, only above the drop zone on goal difference.

Despite it being a disappointing day for his team, the 31-year-old was filmed by Manchester City's tunnel cam asking City's Norwegian superstar for his shirt post-match. Haaland accepted the request before shaking hands with his fellow forward.

The 22-year-old proved to be a popular figure across the course of the day on Sunday. Before kick-off, the mascots were seen waiting in the tunnel chanting his name as the players emerged for their warm-ups.

With his hat-trick this weekend, Haaland managed to surpass last season's Golden Boot winning total for the amount of goals scored in the Premier League. Tottenham Hotspur's Son Heung-Min won the award with 23 goals in the last campaign, Haaland meanwhile is now on 25 goals already.

His overall total for the season stands at 31 having scored five in the Champions League and one in the Carabao Cup.

Next up for City is the return of the FA Cup as they host Arsenal on Friday night.

In the Premier League, the Gunners hold a five-point gap over the Blues having played a game less. Should the game be level after 90 minutes on Friday, the match will go to a replay.
