Chelsea goalkeeper Willy Caballero insisted remaining sharp in training was key to his return to first-team action against Leicester City.
The 38-year-old replaced Kepa Arrizabalaga in goal for the trip to the King Power Stadium, making his first Premier League appearance of the season.
Frank Lampard opted for a change in between the sticks after several high-profile errors from the club's record transfer, Arrizabalaga.
Against the Foxes, Caballero enjoyed a strong return to the side during Chelsea's 2-2 draw.
The Argentine saved well to deny Jamie Vardy in the first half, although he made an initial error for Ben Chilwell's strike which put Leicester 2-1 ahead, before Antonio Rudiger grabbed his second of the match to level the score.
Reflecting on his first league outing of the campaign, Caballero insisted that remaining concentrated in training is key for a second-choice goalkeeper to step up when called upon by their manager.
"It is our way as a goalkeeper when we don't have the opportunity to play you have to keep the faith, keep training well and hope the opportunity arrives," he told BT Sport after the match.
"You have to do properly during the week to be ready for this kind of opportunity.
"It is a lesson for every goalkeeper in the world. We must be ready any time."
"I enjoyed it so much. I am really happy to help the team, to play today.
"I made a few saves but the important thing is that the spirit of the team rescues one point here which is so difficult."
