Augustin, Casilla, Poveda - what we learned watching Leeds United in training

Leeds United have been stepping up their preparation ahead of Saturday's Yorkshire derby against Huddersfield Town.

Marcelo Bielsa's side go into the Elland Road clash on the back of an emphatic 4-0 win over Hull City last weekend, which took their winning streak up to four games.

They will begin the weekend a point off leaders West Bromwich Albion, who host Luton Town this weekend and five ahead of third-placed Fulham who visit Bristol City in the early Saturday kick-off.

With no midweek match the squad have had a full week to prepare for the clash and the club has shared a training video on LUTV.

Wednesdays usually bring about the squad's infamous 'murderball' session, but this is a much lighter affair, as the squad were first put through their paces in the gym and then do some drills out on the grass.

But what did we learn from the clip?

No Augustin

Jean-Kevin Augustin's fitness is the big injury question going into the Saturday's match and there was no sign of the January signing in the video.

The Frenchman has been struggling with a hamstring injury that he picked up before the Middlesbrough trip and he is still awaiting his first start for the club.

Bielsa will no doubt provide an update during his Thursday press conference.

Young duo back

Under-23s standouts and first-team back-ups Robbie Gotts and Leif Davis has both been recovering from injuries in recent weeks,. but both feature out on the grass in the video.

Gotts' is still awaiting his Championship debut following his appearance against Arsenal in the FA Cup, but his versatility means he is an excellent option on the bench.

Casilla continues to train

Kiko Casilla was handed his eight-game ban on Friday night, meaning he was ruled out of the win at Hull City. The FA produced the written reasons for his suspension on Tuesday and they also revealed the terms of his suspension.

Unlike the ban handed to Jordan Stevens for breaching gambling regulations earlier in the season, Casilla's suspension does not include all football activities, so he is still allowed to train with the squad - and it looks like that is exactly what he is doing.

Poveda present

We're still waiting for Ian Poveda's debut following his January move from Manchester City, but this clip shows he is well and truly in the thick of the first-team picture when it comes to training.

It's hard to argue that Bielsa needs to make any changes out wide given how well Jack Harrison and Helder Costa played in the second half at Hull, but the England youth international is clearly there as an option.

Roberts front and centre

Tyler Roberts came off the bench to score two excellent goals in the 4-0 win over Hull at the weekend and if this video is anything to go by, he looks full of confidence.

The Wales international is given plenty of air time in the clip as he gets involved with his teammates and does all he can to force Bielsa into giving him a starting berth.
