Discussions as to how the EFL season may conclude continue to rumble on, although it’s expected that Nottingham Forest will return to action soon.
While the Premier League have confirmed their plans to restart on June 17, nothing has yet been decided in the second tier.
The EFL have made steps though in their proposals for how the 2019/20 Championship campaign will be concluded, and the system that would be in place should the season be curtailed.

What has been agreed?
The EFL board confirmed following a meeting on Wednesday, May 27 that they had agreed to progress with the framework that was outlined previously with regards to the curtailment of the 2019/20 season.
The outcome would see leagues decided on a points-per-game basis, while promotion and relegation would remain in place, despite opposition from some clubs on that matter.
The framework is likely to be implemented in League Two, where clubs have already indicated their preference to end the season, while League One remains undecided.
It’s not expected to be used in the Championship though, which is expected to resume.
Next vote
Having announced their intentions to go ahead with the framework, the EFL announced a further meeting on Monday, June 8 when the proposals could potentially be approved.
Should any clubs wish to propose alternatives or amendments to the regulations, they have until 2pm on Tuesday, June 2 to get those across.
The EFL will then confirm their decision following the meeting on June 8, as well as any other proposals put forward by clubs.
Training plans
With the Championship expected to get back underway, clubs in the second tier have been taking part in non-contract training which complies with phase one of the government’s proposals for athletes.
Teams are expected to begin contact training later this week, with phase two training protocols being sent to clubs before a decision is likely made on Monday (June 1).
The majority of Championship clubs are expected to vote for the resumption of contact training.
When can matches resume?
While the Premier League have confirmed their plans to return on June 17, the Championship is expected to return slightly later, given the hold-up in the EFL’s proceedings.
At this moment in time, second-tier clubs are expected to be given at least three weeks of full training, with a possible restart to the campaign coming on either June 19 or 26.
