What we know about the Loretto Hospital vaccine flap

CHICAGO SUN-TIMES

The Loretto Hospital is facing intense scrutiny after it wrongly vaccinated 72 employees at Trump International Hotel & Tower in early March even though they weren’t eligible to get the coveted shots.

Since then, city officials have announced that the Austin-based hospital’s vaccine supply was cut off. The Chicago Department of Public Health said those who were vaccinated through Loretto will be able to get their second doses there, but the hospital won’t be receiving any first doses.

On March 22, the board of directors of Loretto Hospital said hospital CEO George Miller and Chief Operating Officer Dr. Anosh Ahmed had been “reprimanded,” but announced no new actions against the top officials involved.

The same day, State Rep. La Shawn K. Ford resigned from the board of trustees at the hospital over how it has handled the flap.
