It's been a remarkable year for the small screen. At the Edinburgh TV festival in August, Kevin Spacey, star of the Netflix series House of Cards, used his MacTaggart lecture to declare that we've entered a "third golden age" of television. Fittingly, when our critics voted for their favourite shows of the year, many of them were ambitious, cinematic dramas, as seen in the top 10.
1. The Returned (Channel 4)
2. Breaking Bad (Netflix)
3. Utopia (Channel 4)
4. Game of Thrones (Sky Atlantic)
5. Broadchurch (ITV)
6. Orange is the New Black (Netflix)
7. Fresh Meat (Channel 4)
8. Top of the Lake (BBC2)
9. Borgen (BBC4)
10. The Fall (BBC2)
But what did we miss? What was overrated? And what should have been higher? Leave your thoughts below.
