What Vincent Kompany said to Troy Deeney after Man City's fourth goal against Watford

It was certainly an afternoon to forget for Watford.

Manchester City were in a buoyant mood as they arrived at Wembley, and took little time to get going as David Silva slotted past Heurelho Goems.

Shortly after Gabriel Jesus made it two, while Kevin De Bruyne made it 3-0 on the hour to put the game to bed.

Watford looked really bright for spells during the final, and even threatened to get back into the game at the start of the second half - that was until Jesus added a fourth to the tally.

As the Hornets committed men forward, a pass through found the Brazilian striker who ran from the halfway line and converted with ease past Gomes.

The Man City fans celebrated with jubilation, but skipper Vincent Kompany took a more respectful approach.

Heurelho Gomes and the warning Alan Shearer gave ahead of Watford's 6-0 thumping by Man City

As he walked back to his own half he passed Watford captain Troy Deeney and could be seen muttering the word 'harsh' as he went to take his position.

Kompany has always been a player and a man of real class, and while Deeney will undoubtedly take no consolation in his words, it certainly shows a compassionate side to the serial winner.
