'I've only heard great things about the club,' Valentino Lazaro said as he took part in his first interview after arriving on loan at Newcastle United.
Having spoken to Steve Bruce about where he'd fit in - a conversation he described as 'good' - Lazaro admitted that he had been convinced that six months on Tyneside was the right move for him.
But work on selling the club to the Austria international had started weeks before and went into overdrive with the arrival of his agent, Max Hagmayr, at St James' Park for the game against Chelsea.
Having arrived on a private flight to Newcastle airport to be met by Steve Nickson, the work to persuade Hagmayr that Newcastle was the destination for his client begun.
Hagmayr looked around the stadium as Nickson pointed out various things including the directors box and the roof which dominates the Milburn stand.
Nickson then introduced him to the United players as they headed in before kick-off with Hagmayr having a good conversation with Joelinton.
Hagmayr then took the game in from the directors box, posting updates through his social media.
It was far from the most thrilling of games as Chelsea pushed United but failed to really test Martin Dubravka in the goal, allowing for a last gasp winner from Isaac Hayden.
The celebrations that followed maybe played a part in the good words that Hagmayr took back to his client before he spoke to RB Leipzig and Bologna about a potential loan deal.
But in the end it was Newcastle which won the race and ChronicleLive understands that Hagymayr told Lazaro the club was a 'good package', having been left particularly impressed by the enthusiasm of Bruce for his client and the facilities at the club.
Hagmayr was though left in awe at the fans and the atmosphere which, of course, went into overdrive as Hayden nodded home in the 94th minute.
It may be a cliché, but 52,000 Newcastle fans singing their hearts out in St James' Park can still have an influence on potential arrivals.
