It's been just over a month since last season came to an end for United - in disappointment after losing in the Europa League semi finals to Sevilla - and now Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side must lift themselves for the start of what looks set to be a gruelling campaign.
Palace got their own season off to a winning start last weekend with a 1-0 victory against Southampton, courtesy of a Wilfried Zaha volley.
United were given an extra week off to prepare and rest due to their European exploits and managed to fit in a single pre-season friendly, which they lost 1-0 to Aston Villa.
The Eagles earned a shock 2-1 victory when they visited Old Trafford last season and United will be hoping to avoid a repeat of that result and start the season on the strongest possible foot.
