However, since then Pep Guardiola’s fortunes have drastically changed and City currently find themselves 14 points behind Liverpool in the league, after a few lacklustre performances.

The fixtures at the Emirates is the perfect opportunity for City to show their class and recent history makes pleasant reading for the Citizens, as in the last five fixtures between Arsenal, the Blues have won on each occasion.

Also, Arsenal head into the fixture in turmoil, after Unai Emery was recently sacked after just 18 months in charge. The gunners currently sit in the unfamiliar territory, in ninth position in the table, and caretaker manager and Arsenal legend Freddie Ljungberg will be desperate for a result on Sunday afternoon.
