What TripAdvisor reviews have to say about Disney's The Lion King at Bristol Hippodrome

Bristol Hippodrome has been home to some amazing theatre shows over the past couple of years with Matilda the Musical and Rock of ages having been popular and Hamilton to take the stage next year. But one show that just keeps on coming back to Bristol is a treasured show in many people’s hearts - Disney’s The Lion King.

This year’s run of shows makes it the third time a production of The Lion King has run at Bristol Hippodrome and with ticket prices starting at just £20 it’s no wonder people keep going back for more. And it’s not just families who go to watch, schools from across the city and further afield also use the show as an education tool.

But the one thing that can really make or break how a theatre show does is the reviews they receive from the audience. On TripAdvisor, the overall rating looks at reviews from across the three years they have been in Bristol, but this year there is an average rating of 4.4 stars.

One theatre goer, who gave the show five stars, said: “We visited here last night 20 May 2023 it was our first visit. What can I say that has not been said before, it was the most amazing experience ever as we had never been to a performance before. We could see everything and still cannot get over the great performance and the theatre was great too.”

Another five star reviewer, who claimed it to be ‘amazing and impressive’, said: “Really excellent experience. The staff at the hippodrome were polite and friendly, the seats we had in the upper circle gave a perfect view of the show. The Lion King itself was absolutely amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed it! All cast members and musicians were brilliant and extremely talented. Would highly recommend”

Shows aren’t always for everyone but if you’re still wanting to go watch a Disney story come to life on stage, shows run until July 1. For all the ticket information see here.
