What to see and do in Lake Como on a short break including Bellagio and Tremezzo

Lake Como is one of those beautiful destinations you've probably already seen all over your Instagram feeds.

After all, it's filled with picture-perfect backdrops from the azure blue lake waters, the exquisite villas that line the shores, the pastel-hued villages, and the waterfront restaurants that serve up some of that ridiculously tasty Italian food.

It's no wonder then that the lake has long been a holiday hotspot for A-listers like George Clooney.

Now, Imagine Cruising is offering a chance to get a taste of 'La Dolce Vita' with a two-night break at beautiful Lake Como, complete with a stay in a luxury four-star hotel.

Oh, and you'll also get access to the Como ferries so you can do plenty of exploring while you're there.

The short break is part of the firm's 12-night Cunard Mediterranean Voyage and Italian Lakes Retreat, which includes other perks such as a trip to Lake Maggiore and a luxury six-night cruise.

So, what is there to see and do in Lake Como?

Well, for a start there are heaps of beautiful towns and villages peppered across the meandering shoreline. If you only visit one or two, make them Bellagio and Tremezzo.

Bellagio has all the makings of an idyllic getaway with its cobbled lanes, romantic villas and landscaped terraced gardens that will leave you feeling like you've stepped into a real-life storybook.

Over in Tremezzo you'll find plenty of picturesque trails and vantage points from which to enjoy the spectacular lake views, as well as some great upscale foodie haunts.

Then of course there's Lake Como itself, with its inviting blue waters and countless boat trips if you're looking to bask in the glorious sunshine.

The Imagine Cruising holiday isn't just about Lake Como though - there's ample opportunity to get a taster of other Italian hotspots.

That's because the trip also features a two-night break at the equally spectacular Lake Maggiore, complete with an exclusive gala evening at the historic Rocca d’Angera castle, and a guided tour of Isola Bella.

Other highlights include an overnight stay in Florence complete with a guided walking tour of the city, as well as a luxurious six-night cruise onboard Cunard's elegant Queen Victoria cruise ship with ports of call to Cartagena and Gibraltar.

The ship itself makes for serious bucket list-worthy experiences too thanks to the lavish perks for passengers, beautiful cabins and gourmet dining options.

Starting to think this could be the holiday of your dreams?

Prices start from £2,499pp for the 12-night Cunard Mediterranean Voyage, Italian Lakes Retreat & Exclusive Gala Evening. Based on a June 7, 2022 departure. Find out more at imaginecruising.co.uk.
