A homegrown vegan festival is returning to Newcastle this weekend.

Newcastle Vegan Festival will take place at the Assembly Rooms in Newcastle City Centre on Sunday, June 9, between 10.30am and 4.30pm.

The festival is in its sixth year, and was founded by Louise Pinchen, from Cramlington. Since her first event, Vegan Festival has been held in Newcastle four times and expanded to other locations around the country.

Expect stalls showcasing the latest animal-free products, including vegan versions of chocolate, cheese, cakes, takeaway food and clothing.

Visitors will also be able to try free samples and take part in food tasting.

What is Veganism?

There will also be talks and demonstrations from businesses and vegan experts.

Admission is £2 in advance or £3 on the door for adults. Kids get in for £1, under fives go free.

The entry price includes admission to all presentations and workshops.
