What to Expect From Halliburton's Q2 2025 Earnings Report

Houston, Texas-based Halliburton Company (HAL) provides products and services to the energy industry worldwide. With a market cap of $17.7 billion, the company operates in two segments, Completion and Production, and Drilling and Evaluation. The energy company is slated to report its fiscal 2025 Q2 earnings before the market opens on Tuesday, July 22.

Ahead of this event, analysts expect the company to report a profit of $0.56 per share, down 30% from $0.80 per share in the year-ago quarter. The company has matched the Street’s bottom-line projections in three of the past four quarters, while missing on one occasion.

 

For fiscal 2025, analysts expect HAL to report a profit of $2.34, down 21.7% from $2.99 in fiscal 2024. Furthermore, its EPS is expected to grow 9.4% year over year to $2.56 in fiscal 2026.

HAL stock has declined 39.7% over the past 52 weeks, underperforming the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund’s (XLE7% decline and the S&P 500 Index’s ($SPX13.6% uptick during the same time frame.

On Apr. 22, HAL shares closed down more than 5% following the release of its Q1 earnings. The energy company’s revenue came in at $5.4 billion, topping Wall Street forecasts of $5.3 billion. Moreover, its adjusted EPS amounted to $0.60 and successfully matched the consensus estimates.

Wall Street analysts are moderately optimistic about HAL’s stock, with a "Moderate Buy" rating overall. Among 24 analysts covering the stock, 14 recommend "Strong Buy," two suggest “Moderate Buy,” and eight advise “Hold.” HAL’s average analyst price target of $28.77 indicates a potential upside of 41.2% from the current levels.
