Valued at a market cap of $170.9 billion, The Boeing Company (BA) designs, develops, manufactures, sells, services, and supports commercial jetliners, military aircraft, satellites, missile defense, human space flight and launch systems, and services. The Arlington, Virginia-based company is scheduled to announce its fiscal Q2 earnings for 2025 before the market opens on Tuesday, Jul. 29.
Prior to this event, analysts project this aerospace and defense company to report a loss of $0.92 per share, 68.3% narrower from a loss of $2.90 per share in the year-ago quarter. The company has missed Wall Street’s bottom-line estimates in three of the last four quarters, while surpassing on another occasion. Its loss per share of $0.49 in the previous quarter topped the consensus estimates by 68.2%.
For the full year, analysts expect BA to report a loss of $1.80 per share, 91.2% narrower from a loss of $20.38 per share in fiscal 2024. Its EPS is expected to further grow by 263.9% year-over-year to $2.95 in fiscal 2026.

BA has outpaced the S&P 500 Index's ($SPX) 12.3% return over the past 52 weeks, with its shares up 23.7%. However, it has lagged behind the Industrial Select Sector SPDR Fund’s (XLI) 24.1% uptick over the same time frame.

On Apr. 23, shares of Boeing surged 6.1% after its better-than-expected Q1 earnings release. The company’s revenue advanced 17.7% year-over-year to $19.5 billion, exceeding the consensus estimates by a slight margin. Moreover, its bottom line also significantly improved, narrowing to a core loss per share of $0.49 from a loss of $1.13 per share recorded in the same period last year. Improved operational performance and a rise in commercial delivery volume supported its impressive Q1 performance.
Wall Street analysts are highly optimistic about BA’s stock, with a "Strong Buy" rating overall. Among 24 analysts covering the stock, 19 recommend "Strong Buy," two indicate "Moderate Buy," and three suggest "Hold.” The mean price target for Boeing is $230.23, which indicates a 1.6% potential upside from the current levels.
