What to do with your summer evenings when Love Island is over

Love Island 2019 has come to an end, and suddenly most of us are finding ourselves with a lot of free time.

After all, for the last eight weeks we've been putting all of our eggs in one basket and devoting weeknights to keeping up with the latest drama, recouplings and dates.

But now the show is over, that means six nights a week have suddenly freed up - but the good news is that there are plenty of fun events and activities going on if you are looking to fill some of them.

To give you a helping hand we've put together a guide with a few ideas of fun events and things to do with your summer evenings, especially if you're hoping to enjoy the balmy weather.

Check out our top picks of things to do now Love Island is over...

Looking for more inspiration? We've also got a round-up of some of the best cheap summer days out as well as fun free things to do with the kids during the holidays.

1. Watch a film under the stars

The downside of watching Love Island is that you miss out on those balmy summer evenings, so why not head outdoors and still get your screen fix?

The Luna Cinema has heaps of open air screenings in parks, palaces and plenty more venues with films including The Favourite, Jurassic Park, Dirty Dancing and Moulin Rouge.

Tickets can be booked on the Luna Cinema website .

Don't trust the British weather, or finding yourself bored on a rainy evening? Here are all the films coming out in August you won't want to miss if you fancy a regular cinema outing too.

2. Explore a museum after hours

The UK has heaps of brilliant free museums , and during the summer you can often find special after-hours events to explore them away from the peak crowds.

Think private tours with exclusive access to museums and galleries, night-time concerts and, if you're in London, dedicated Museum Lates which take place on the last Friday of every month.

3. Binge watch every Love Island series

Really missing your daily Love Island fix? Well we've got good news - all five series of the show are available to watch on ITV Hub .

That means you can relive all of your favourite moments, watch any previous series you may have missed, and take your Love Island obsession to a whole new level.

4. Plan a holiday to Majorca

If like us you got major holiday envy from the islanders, then why not plan your own trip to the Love Island filming location (without needing to apply for the show).

Majorca is a summer hotspot for a reason; it has glorious sunshine, heaps of great things to see and do , and it's easy to find cheap holiday packages and cheap flights .

5. Catch an outdoor show or concert

Dramatic recouplings, broken hearts, blossoming romance, explosive arguments - you can get your daily dose of drama, only this time it will be on stage rather than on your TV screen.

The National Trust has a round-up of properties with open air performances from theatre shows to concerts, whether you're considering a fancy date night or want something fun to do with the kids.

For something truly special, Cornwall's Minack Theatre boasts a breathtaking outdoor amphitheatre with the Atlantic Ocean making for a spectacular backdrop.

Love a dose of history? Shakespeare's Globe in London will leave you feeling like you've stepped back into Elizabethan times as you catch some Shakespearean classics.

If you're not sure you want to chance it with the British weather, you could of course head to see some of the iconic West End shows from the Lion King to Wicked.
