It’s a few days after the election, and a common question is "what to do with that political yard sign?" Angela Poe with Lexington Environmental Quality and Public Works, said to not put them into a Rosie recycling container or next recycling dumpsters. Poe noted the City will take them for re-use purposes.
“We reuse the stakes for things like our slow-down signs and our watershed signs and the signs themselves we paint and then use for a variety of crafts,” said Poe.
The wire stakes can do damage to the machinery at the city’s recycling center. Donated signs can be dropped off at nine different businesses around Lexington.
