What to do in Bray: Amazing scenery, delicious food and much more

By Brian Dillon

Bray is a location deserving of a visit for an array of reasons. Recently, a bunch of new restaurants and eateries have been turning the town into a mega popular destination for anyone who loves a day out with even better grub.

But the food isn't the only thing attracting us to Bray right now. From the stunning natural scenery, the seafront and family-friendly attractions, Bray has so much to offer. So, let's get into it.

Getting there

If you're using public transport, the DART is perhaps your best option. There are also the 184, 45A and 84 Dublin Bus routes which will take you here.

If you're driving, there are a few parking facilities available including spaces at the DART station, along the seafront and at the start of the Bray Head walk.

Incredible scenery

Bray has no shortage of sights that you will want to grab a snap of. First of all, you have Bray Head. This ascent can be quite steep at times but the trail to the top doesn't take that long (anywhere between 20 and 30 minutes), meaning it really doesn't take long to get to those wonderful cliffside views.

If you're in the market for a longer (but more flat) walk, then there is the Bray to Greystones cliff walk. This one is ideal for anyone getting the DART, as you can finish your day in Greystones and hope on the DART there.

If you're not looking for any kind of walk and you just want to sit and soak in some views, then Bray Seafront is a pretty picturesque spot.

Family-friendly fun

We can't talk about Bray attractions without mentioning Sea Life Bray, where visitors head to learn about the fascinating creatures that inhabit our waters.

There is also Killruddery House & Gardens on the southern outskirts of Bray. Explore the stunning gardens, head to the Farm Shop, enjoy the Tea Room or book a tour of the house.

Food, glorious food

Bray has become somewhat of a foodie haven in the past couple of years with so many new spots opening up. Get ready, there is a lot of culinary goodness happening here.

Let's start off with delicious pizza that has proven to be mega popular, which you'll be able to enjoy at Platform Pizza. As well as stunning pizza, their menu also includes Pork and Beef Tayto Meatballs, Mac n Cheese and Moroccan Chicken Flatbread.

For juicy mouth-watering burgers, you're going to want to visit Box Burger on the seafront which serves up some seriously good stuff. One thing is for sure, you'll be walking out with a full belly after sampling their menu of burgers, nachos and scrumptious sides.

Joe's Chicken is where you're going to go for, you guessed it, chicken. More specifically, you'll get popcorn chicken, their tender dog, unbelievable chicken burgers and sides like loaded tater tots.

Dirt Birdz is another great shout for comfort food like chicken burgers, wings and cheesecake.

Rewarding pints

You've had a wonderful day out and you got your steps in. Now, it's time for a nice reward in the form of pints.

The Harbour Bar is a great shout for pints along with views. In terms of food, they have a menu of Irish favourites such as Fish & Chips as well as toasties.
