What to do if you have booked to stay at Cribbs Causeway Premier Inn

Premier Inn has issued a statement following a huge fire which broke out at its Cribbs Causeway hotel.

The blaze has affected the majority of the building and has been burning for almost 24 hours.

More than 60 firefighters have been involved in the operation and one of them said the fire "could grow again".

Pictures show the extent of the damage caused to the hotel, which has collapsed onto the road.

And now, the hotel chain has provided a statement reacting to the news and explaining what action people with bookings should take.

We are reporting live updates on the fire here.

A spokesperson for Premier Inn said: "Our hotel at Bristol Cribbs Causeway has suffered significant damage following the fire which broke out yesterday afternoon (Thursday, July 17).

"We express our thanks to the emergency services for their efforts in tackling the blaze, and we will of course continue to provide them with assistance as necessary.

"Our teams have been working hard to ensure all guests staying at Cribbs Causeway yesterday have been fully supported to make other arrangements, including being transferred to our other hotels in Bristol.

"Guests who are booked for future stays are advised to call our guest relations team."

The blaze started on the third floor shortly after 1pm yesterday and spread to the roof.

Roads around the hotel remain closed as emergency services continue to fight the fire.
