We should expect another address to the nation from the Taoiseach on Friday afternoon.
That's the word from the Government on a day where the Irish public are angry after the latest advice from NPHET.
The group, led by Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan, sent a letter to Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly late last night with the latest rules and restriction they would like to see introduced.
It comes as a result of the Omicron variant spreading, now making up 27% of new daily cases, where last week it was as low as 1%.
But there is still confusion about the exact timeline of things.
What time are the Government committee meeting at?
Eamon Ryan gave a bit of clarity when speaking to Morning Ireland.
The Green Party leader said: "The sub-committee will meet around midday. We had a meeting earlier this week with the CMO and we'll be meeting them again this morning before the full Cabinet meeting."
However, that meeting has since been delayed until 1.30pm.
Will the Taoiseach address the nation?
Mr Ryan added: "I would expect it (a Taoiseach's address) is likely this evening. We need to give people certainty and we will. People are conscious and we are very aware that the new variant is a risk. We will still have a social Christmas but it needs to be in a careful way."
Previous addresses have taken place shortly after 6pm, so if one is coming on Friday evening you can expect it to be around about then.
But Mr Ryan did note that not all of the NPHET advice could be accepted by officials.
Mr Ryan also defended the Government's decision to keep schools open for Christmas, saying that children are safer in schools 'than elsewhere'
