Taoiseach Micheal Martin is set to announce what restrictions will ease over the summer months today.
Ireland is currently in the process of winding down its lockdown measures, with many aspects of normal life such as hairdressers, barbers and non-essential retail already re-opening from the start of May.
With case numbers steadily plateauing, it looks like a major re-opening for the summer months could be on the cards.
So what can we expect from the Taoiseach's announcement later?
What time will the Taoiseach make his announcement?
Every major coronavirus announcement has either taken place on RTE's Six One or Nine One news since the start of the pandemic.
So while there hasn't been an official confirmation on when the Taoiseach will take to the steps of Leinster House later on, it's likely he will appear on the news around 6.10pm to give his speech.
What major changes can we expect in June?
It has been widely speculated that there will be no negative news in the Taoiseach's speech later on today.
From the 2nd June, hotels and B&Bs are set to re-open and will be allowed to re-welcome guests.
On the 7th of June, it is expected that outdoor service at pubs and restaurants will resume, meaning you will be allowed to sit outside for a meal and pints.
Gyms and cinemas are also due to re-open on the 7th of June, with gatherings of up to 100 people could be allowed in outdoor venues for sports matches- which could rise to 200 in larger grounds.
The Government is also expected to start trialling crowds at events from June onwards.
What major changes can we expect in July?
From the 5th of July, it is expected that indoor dining will be allowed to resume, and there will also be 50 people allowed at a wedding reception.
International travel will be given the go ahead from the 19th of July, with people from Ireland expected to be allowed to travel within countries operating with the Digital Green Certificate.
The Digital Green Certificate is proof that you've either been fully vaccinated, have received a negative PCR test or that you've recovered from Covid-19 previously.
What major changes can we expect in August?
In August, wedding receptions will be allowed to have up to 100 guests in doors.
There will also be at least 5,000 people allowed in large outdoor venues or depending on size, 25% of the capacity of the venue will be allowed to attend.
