There's a new type of politician in town.
Streaming giant Netflix is launching the first in a series of collaborations with Glee and American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy with new political comedy The Politician.
The series follows Payton Hobart (Ben Platt), a wealthy student who lives in Santa Barbara, who is intent on becoming the President of the United States of America.
However, first Payton must take on the perilous battle of becoming Student Body President at his ruthless place of education: Saint Sebastian High School.
Alongside Platt, the series also stars Zoey Deutch, Lucy Boynton, Bob Balaban, Jessica Lange, and Gwyneth Paltrow, with guest appearances from the likes of Bette Midler and January Jones.

The Politician season 1 is released on Netflix UK at 8am GMT on September 27, 2019.
All eight episodes will be released simultaneously.
