What time is the NASA moon announcement today and how to watch it

As if 2020 couldn't get any stranger, NASA is to make a formal announcement to the world today about an ‘exciting new discovery’ about the moon.

It is not clear just what the space agency may announce, but they say it ‘contributes to NASA’s efforts to learn about the moon in support of deep space exploration.’

Four experts from NASA will host an official teleconference at 16:00pm UK time (12:00 EDT) today to tell the world about their mysterious findings.

In a statement, NASA said: “This new discovery contributes to NASA’s efforts to learn about the Moon in support of deep space exploration.

“Under NASA’s Artemis program, the agency will send the first woman and next man to the lunar surface in 2024 to prepare for our next giant leap – human exploration of Mars as early as the 2030s.

“Understanding the science of the Moon also helps peice together the broader history of the inner solar system.”
